Just home from our Desert Adventure Retreat and I could not be more full! JeaninePower1.square

Sure we ate well, but we filled up on nature, adventure, hiking into our ancestral past through the rock art left behind. We felt the healing power of horses, stepped into the infinite stream of Women’s Wisdom, and felt the incredible dynamic of women supporting each other on our journey.

We experienced the MAGIC that happens when women gather with intention. This is something that generally is missing from the fast-paced urban life so common in our world today. It is deep wisdom, though, so it emerges quickly when we beckon it forth as we did on this retreat.

At the closing circle one woman remarked, “I’m just amazed at the power that women create when we are together like this!”  This moved me to grab the drum and queue up Karen Drucker’s song, “Power of Women”.  It’s one of those songs that inspires me to step into my power and bring it forth in the world – with compassion, love, kindness, and strength.

Chorus

It’s the power of women,

United we stand.

We’re making a difference,

We join hands.

It’s the power of women,

That will heal this world.

The power of women.

It’s the goddess, it’s the matriarch,

It’s the maiden, queen and crone.

Every color, every race,

Through the ages it’s been shown,

That women have compassion,

Women show the way

To a world that’s filled with peace and love!

Let me here you say…

(Chorus)

As we stand in this circle feeling our connection,

We can feel the power move as we state our intention,

To bring peace to this world and right all the wrongs.

Joining now in sisterhood,

We lift our voice in song!

Chorus

We’ve got the power to change the world

So what are we going to do?

First we have to realize

That it’s up to me and you!

Every single day I’m going to take the time to pray,

Spread some loving kindness to each person along my way.

Whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do

With your POWER?

We are women of POWER!

It’s no surprise that a man such as His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, speaking at the 2009 Vancouver Peace Conference,  said that he is a feminist and, “The world will be saved by the western woman.”

I ask you today: What will you do with your power?
